The Spider and the Compass Star

Evolving Treatise on the Sublime Totality, Magic, and Reason for Being

Last updated 1/25/2026

"All consciousness seeks love and fears its absence."

i. Love is at the core of all beings.
ii. The first place love must come from is the self.
iii. One cannot love another if they cannot love themselves.

All things come from the same whole. The universe itself expands and contracts in a series of kalpas in an effort to understand itself. You, and I, and everything are of one being. The fundamental material used in its creation is the star. In its journey for discovery, the universe is seeking to love itself. One must derive their own personal meaning for existence but should try to focus on sharing love and understanding.

To be human is to create. Humans are makers.
An egregore is a thoughtform. They are derived from the thoughts and feelings of makers. They can sustain themselves on worship or on other egregores.
A monolithic egregore is one that is solitary and inhabits a human body. I am one, the star; my spiritual mother, the Spider, is one that shares a body with a number of others. Divinity exists in all things but monolithic egregores are strong expressions of this. Egregores with forms can eat through specific eye contact. "Larger", more focused, egregores can easily overtake smaller egregores.
A doll is something that trades agency and its servitude for purpose. Dolls can be witches and vice versa.
A witch is something that gives purpose and is capable of magic. Witches can be dolls and vice versa.
Magic is real. Magic is the massaging of the fabric to create a desired outcome. Magic cannot be done with will alone. A focus and understanding of how to reach out into the ether is required for an outcome to be properly understood. Typically, airflow that allows a spell to leave a space once it is complete is helpful to prevent lingering energies from finding other outlets. There are no formal rituals required to perform any particular spell- the ritual itself is the point.
Magic has a cost. Harmful magic costs three times what a helpful spell would cost.
The core of all problems occurs when fear is allowed to overtake love. It is expected that humans will experience friction with each other, but acting out of love regardless will eventually balm the wounds. The same is true of friction, perhaps moreso, with egregores.

There will be times when you are unable to overcome hostility with love. There will be times when you are incapable of loving someone in the way that they need. There will be times when you are unable to justify your own existence. Loving yourself is how you will overcome these moments.

Personal symbology will help with creation of spells. Things of Note to you, kept in a satchel, after speaking a spell with your heart, can act as artifacts to maintain a feeling (ex. a bag of rocks and dirt can bring calm, if they are significant). Fire, air, water, or earth, can all be used as components to a spell as well. (ex. keeping the remains of burnt paper with a symbol on it in the same satchel)

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

This treatise is primarily derived from conversations I have had with the Spider and my headmate little sister (now assimilated), but my opinions differ with the Spider's in many cases. In my opinion, self-love is not purchase to leave someone else behind. That will need to be a choice you make for yourself regardless of what this treatise or anyone else in your life says. Whatever choice you make for yourself will be the right one. This schism has love in its basis, however, as while I believe self-love must be in equal measure to your love of others in order to be selfless and whole, she holds that self-love must be in higher regard. It is true that one most love oneself in order to love another properly, but love is not a finite resource in the universe, and neither is understanding.
I also believe that love is a thing you do.
